David Thornhill
Vice President
David Thornhill brings to Morrissey Goodale’s M&A advisory practice a career built entirely within the AE industry on the operating side. Having served in senior financial and operational leadership roles across three major firms, he understands firsthand the complexities that AE firm owners face when navigating ownership transition, acquisition integration, and strategic change. That operating experience gives him a grounded, practical perspective that clients find invaluable throughout the transaction process.
Before joining Morrissey Goodale, David served as both Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of AKF Group, a North American MEP firm, where he sat on the Executive Committee with responsibility for process improvement, liquidity, ownership transition, and acquisition integration. Before AKF, he was CFO at Edwards & Kelcey, a transportation design firm of approximately 1,000 people, and spent the 14 years prior in a succession of financial leadership roles at Parsons Brinckerhoff, including international assignments in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. David holds an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, a BS in engineering from Cornell University, and an MS in engineering from Columbia University
