David Thornhill

Vice President

David is a Vice President at Morrissey Goodale and works with our M&A Advisory and Strategic Planning teams.

David has a vast experience in the AE Industry. Immediately prior to joining Morrissey Goodale, David was Chief Operating and Chief Financial Officer for AKF Group, an MEP firm with resources throughout North America, serving on its Executive Committee. In that dual role, his responsibilities included firm-wide process improvements, liquidity maintenance, ownership transition, acquisition integration, and occasional divestiture. David’s M&A experience is on both sides of the transaction, having successfully presented a case that the sale of AKF made strategic and financial sense for both owners and employees.

Prior to his time at AKF, David was Chief Financial Officer at Edwards & Kelcey, a thousand-person transportation design firm in the U.S. prior to it being acquired by Jacobs. In the 14 years prior to that, David held several financial roles for Parsons Brinckerhoff, including two international assignments (New Zealand and the United Kingdom). His corporate responsibilities allowed him to gather significant experience in treasury, insurance, and systems.

David received his MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Prior to that, he received engineering degrees from Cornell University (BS) and Columbia University (MS).
