Oregon’s state and local construction spending grew over 140% since 2014 and has continued to rise at a double-digit pace in recent years. The state also had healthy growth in nonresidential construction starts in 2024, in part driven by a well-established semiconductor sector, a strong research and development ecosystem, and a skilled workforce. This environment allows Oregon to continue to invest in cloud computing and AI innovation, which has fueled demand for data center and power generation projects in the state. • Portland: The OMSI District redevelopment is set to break ground in late 2025, transforming 24 acres into a mixed-use area with residential, commercial, and cultural spaces. 
• Interstate Bridge Replacement: A collaborative effort between Oregon and Washington aims to replace the aging Interstate Bridge, with construction expected to begin in late 2025 or early 2026. 
• Corvallis: HP plans to expand and modernize its facility with a $50 million investment, enhancing semiconductor technologies crucial for life sciences and AI applications.
• Statewide Water Infrastructure: The EPA has allocated $42 million to Oregon for upgrading water infrastructure, ensuring safe drinking water and effective wastewater management.
