For over twenty five years, Mick has been advising architecture, engineering, planning and environmental consulting firms. Prior to co-founding Morrissey Goodale LLC, Mick served as Director of Strategic Growth for PBS&J, one of the nation’s leading EA firms. For a decade before that he developed and led the premier management consulting business serving the AEP & Environmental Consulting industry. Mick speaks regularly on the topics of strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, organization structure and leadership development and transition.

Nick Belitz, CVA

Principal, Morrissey Goodale

Nick heads Morrissey Goodale’s merger and acquisition practice, and is also involved in the firm’s sell-side engagements, financial advisory, and strategic business planning projects. His expertise lies in financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, deal structure and strategic business analysis. Previously, Nick worked as an analyst for Encana Oil & Gas. Prior to that, he developed and oversaw construction of light industrial projects in the Western United States while at Ascendant Development Corporation.

George E. Christodoulo

Partner, Lawson & Weitzen, LLP

George E. Christodoulo is a corporate lawyer who has spent over forty years in private practice. He has extensive experience in providing legal services to a/e/c firms on a national basis, with an emphasis on ownership transition, mergers and acquisitions, fiduciary duties of directors, professional licensure and termination of principals. He has completed over 200 transactions among AEC firms in the US and Canada, representing both buyers and sellers.

David M. Sullivan, Jr., CPA

Partner, DiCicco, Gulman & Company LLP

David is a partner in the firm’s commercial business group and has approximately 30 years of experience providing audit and advisory services to closely-held and family-owned businesses in a variety of industries. David co-leads DGC’s Architecture & Engineering practice and represents firms across the country. He and his team have advised on over 100 M&A transactions of AE & environmental consulting firms.

For more than 25 years, Ellen has represented the Architecture, Environmental Planning and Engineering consulting industry to broaden their client markets with a big picture approach while implementing strategic programs that translate into business growth. Ellen has served as in-house Regional Operations Director, Strategy Officer, and Development Director for several established industry leading firms prior to incorporating Strategy Driver, Inc. in 2005. In addition to consulting on merger & acquisitions to ensure cultural and integration success goals, Ellen facilitates strategic planning and high stakes sea level rise, flood and water forums on behalf of public  and private organizations.

Erik Gernant

VP Strategy and Corporate Development, CONSOR Engineers

Erik recently joined CONSOR Engineers as Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development.  His primary responsibility is to lead the acquisition efforts as the company continues to pursue an aggressive growth strategy across the nation, but he is also intimately involved in all facets of post-merger integration as well. Formerly with Keystone Capital, the private equity sponsor behind CONSOR, Erik played an integral role in bringing together the four engineering firms that have joined forces to create CONSOR, which is now a full-service transportation engineering firm with 650+ employees operating in 25 states. Erik’s transition over to CONSOR full-time not only illustrates Keystone’s commitment to continue building CONSOR for the long-term, but also a recognition of the incredible growth opportunity that exists in this industry.

Don was part of the leadership team of 90-person planning, engineering, environmental, surveying, and mapping firm Bowyer-Singleton (Orlando, FL) that in 2013 sold to industry leading EA firm Dewberry (Fairfax, VA), the nation’s 38th largest design firm as ranked by Engineering News Record.

Ken Hume

Vice President, Gannett Fleming

In 2018, Ken sold his firm KEH & Associates (San Diego, CA) to Gannett Fleming Harrisburg, PA) (ENR #35). Through the acquisition Gannett Fleming gained KEH’s its comprehensive water, wastewater, and recycled water portfolio, particularly in large pump station and pipeline design, treatment facility design, operations support, and program management services throughout Southern California.

MaryJo O’Brien

Chief Administrative Officer, NV5 Global, Inc.

In her role as CAO, Ms. O’Brien has been involved in the successful integration of over 30 acquisitions for NV5 Global – one of the fastest growing firms in the AEC industry. Prior to her current role as CAO, Ms. O’Brien was a founding member of NV5 and was instrumental in the company’s initial public offering in March of 2013. Ms. O’Brien is a member of NV5’s Board. She brings over thirty years of experience in human resources and administration in the engineering and consulting engineering industry. Ms. O’Brien earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Business Economics from the University of California at San Diego.

Stella Santos 

Vice President, Director of Mergers & Acquisitions, TRC

Stella is a CPA and has nearly 20 years of progressive financial management experience with both private and public companies. As VP, Director of M&A, she is charged with overseeing TRC’s M&A activities including pipeline management, directing a dedicated M&A team from HR, IT, Finance & Accounting, Legal, Real Estate and Operations in the execution of initial and confirmatory due diligence efforts, as well as post-transaction transition and integration. TRC is a leading national technology-enabled engineering, consulting, and project management firm with more than $950M in gross revenue and near 5,000 employees in over 140 locations across the US, UK, Canada, and China.

Mindy Shimanek

Vice President, CONSOR Engineers

Mindy was part of the leadership team of bridge designer and construction management firm Structural Grace, Inc. (Tucson, AZ) that in 2019 sold to industry-leading CONSOR Engineering (Houston, TX), the nation’s 134TH largest design firm as ranked by Engineering News Record.

Delmar Warnock

Chief Operating Officer, BST Global

In his role as COO, Delmar provides leadership to the global development and delivery of products and services at BST. Delmar is also a member of the BST Global Executive Management Team, which is responsible for establishing and delivering the vision, culture, and strategy for the company. Delmar joined BST Global in 2000 as Head of International Business Development, where he played a significant role in establishing a BST Global presence in the Australiasian, United Kingdom, and South African geographies. In 2003, BST Global established a leadership structure to support and manage the successful growth resulting from the launch of BST Enterprise. As a part of this effort, Delmar was named Director of Solutions Delivery and led worldwide solutions delivery for several years.

Kristi Tahmasiyan

Director of Mergers and Acquisitions, Terracon

In her roles with Terracon – one of the most prolific and successful acquirers in the industry– Kristi has led the successful integration of dozens of mergers and acquisitions.  Kristi is an experienced and accomplished HR and paralegal professional with designations from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and HR Certification Institute. Terracon is a 100 percent employee-owned consulting engineering firm specializing in environmental, facilities, geotechnical, and materials services with more than 4,000 employees and 140 offices nationwide.

Chris Yakimak

Director, Acquisitions, Stantec

Chris is a Professional Engineer that works on the Corporate Development team at Stantec and has been involved in over 45 acquisitions since joining the organization in 2010. Chris’ focus is on the front-end of transaction identification, negotiation, and due diligence management through the closing of the transaction.  Chris earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and an MBA specializing in Finance from the University of Alberta.
