Nov 2011: Global energy, environmental management, planning and development consultancy RPS Group (Abingdon, United Kingdom) acquired global environmental, energy and science and technology solutions company Applied Science Associates (ASA) (South Kingstown, RI). Eoin Howlett, CEO of Applied Science Associates says, “We see a tremendous fit and opportunity for our business and staff within RPS and we are excited for the future. By combining the talents and expertise of ASA with those of RPS, we can continue to provide the same level of quality environmental, energy and global science and technology services that our clients have come to expect. The cultures of ASA and RPS are very similar with a priority on personal client interactions and creative solutions. It was also important for us to improve our ability to meet the needs of our geographically diverse clients and joining the global RPS group allows us to do that.” Morrissey Goodale LLC provided ASA with advisory services to support the transaction.

Sep 2011: RESPEC (Rapid City, SD), a consulting and IT solutions firm specializing in the global Energy & Mining, and national Water & Natural Resources and Government markets announced the acquisition of Moser and Associates Engineering, Inc. (Denver, CO). Moser specializes in providing technical services in the areas of stormwater planning, channel restoration, floodplain management and stormwater design. Morrissey Goodale LLC provided financial advisory and valuation services to RESPEC in support of the acquisition.

Apr 2011: HanmiGlobal (Soeul, Korea), a world-wide construction and project management firm acquired a major share of Otak (Portland, OR), an award-winning architecture, urban design, engineering and planning firm. “The combined talents of Otak and HanmiGlobal will be a powerful resource as our clients envision and build better cities and stronger communities around the world,” said Nawzad Othman, Otak’s CEO. Morrissey Goodale LLC provided merger & acquisition advisory services associated with the deal for Otak.

Mar 2011: Global multi-disciplinary design firm IBI Group (Toronto, Canada) announced that business arrangements have been settled for the merger of Bay Architects (Houston, TX) within the IBI Group of firms. Bay is a 65-person full-service architectural practice specializing in the design of schools and community colleges throughout Southeast Texas. With over 2,600 employees, IBI Group is ranked fifth in World Architecture’s Top 100 Architectural Practices. Morrissey Goodale LLC initiated the transaction on behalf of Bay Architects and acted as Bay’s financial and M&A advisor.

Jan 2011: Tighe & Bond (Westfield, MA), a New England leader in
engineering and environmental consulting services that celebrates 100
years in business this year, acquired civil engineering firm Appledore
Engineering
(Portsmouth, NH). The acquisition will enable Appledore
Engineering to expand its service offerings and will also provide Tighe &
Bond greater opportunities for expansion into New Hampshire and Maine
markets. Morrissey Goodale initiated the transaction for Tighe & Bond.

Jan 2011: HDR (Omaha, NE), a leading engineering and architecture
firm, acquired HydroQual, Inc. (Mahwah, NJ), which specializes in water
resource management. HydroQual has nine offices in New Jersey, New
York, Massachusetts, Florida, Utah and Dubai. HydroQual will now conduct
business as HDR|HydroQual. Morrissey Goodale LLC provided financial
advisory and valuation services to HydroQual.

Nov 2010: Civil engineering, environmental, architecture, and planning firm MSA Professional Services (Baraboo, WI) acquired the engineering and architectural divisions of the Devonshire Group—HDC Engineering and ASD Architects (Champaign, IL). Morrissey Goodale LLC initiated the transaction for Devonshire and served as the firm’s M&A advisor throughout the process.

Sep 2010: Civil engineering, planning, landscape architecture,
surveying, environmental, geothermal and construction management firm Bowman Consulting (Chantilly, VA) acquired the Virginia operations of civil engineering and water resources firm Bury+Partners (Austin, TX). Morrissey Goodale LLC advised and initiated the transaction for Bury+Partners.

Jul 2010: Leading North American design firm Stantec, Inc. (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) acquired multidisciplinary planning, design, and engineering firm WilsonMiller, Inc. (Naples, FL). Morrissey Goodale LLC provided financial advisory services to WilsonMiller as part of management's initial evaluation of the transaction.

Sep 2009: International multi-discipline engineering firm Terracon (Olathe, KS) acquired geotechnical engineering, construction materials engineering and testing, and environmental services firm WPC Inc. (Charleston, SC). Morrissey Goodale LLC initiated the transaction for WPC, Inc.

Jul 2009: Multi-discipline professional services firm Howard R. Green Company (Cedar Rapids, IA) acquired engineering and planning firm SEC Group, Inc (McHenry, IL). Morrissey Goodale LLC assisted in the facilitation of this significant mid-west acquisition.

Oct 2008: San Francisco-based SMWM, an award-winning women-owned architecture, urban design and planning practice merged with global integrated design firm Perkins+Will (Chicago, IL). Morrissey Goodale LLC initiated the transaction for SMWM and provided advisory services.

Mar 2008: Kleinfelder (San Diego, CA) acquired Trigon Engineering Consultants, Inc. (Greensboro, NC). Morrissey Goodale LLC provided financial advisory services to Trigon.

May 2007: International consulting firm COWI North America acquired coastal and waterfront engineering services firm Ocean & Coastal Consultants (Trumbull, CT). Morrissey Goodale LLC advised Ocean & Coastal on the transaction.
