Prior to co-founding Morrissey Goodale, Mick served as Director of Strategic Growth for PBS&J, one of the nation's leading EA firms. Before that, he was Senior Vice President with ZweigWhite where for over a decade he helped develop and lead the firm’s Management Consulting business.
Mick has authored numerous articles and publications on business management and trends in the AEC industry. He served as editor for ZweigWhite’s Strategic Planning Advisor and was a contributing author for the firm’s Insiders Guide to Strategic Planning and Insiders Guide to Mergers and Acquisitions. He has been quoted in Architecture and Inc. magazines, the Boston Business Journal, and The Boston Globe on trends and issues in the architecture/engineering/planning and environmental consulting industry.
Since 1998, Mick has spoken annually at national AEC industry conferences and gatherings on the topics of strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, organization structure and leadership development and transition.
Mick received his MBA from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College in 1994 and a BS in Civil Engineering from University College Dublin in 1986. |

During his career consulting to the AEC industry, Mark has facilitated strategic business planning sessions for design and environmental firms across the nation, developed and implemented high-impact marketing, business development, and PR programs, conducted numerous merger & acquisition searches for both buyers and sellers, and served as trusted advisor and coach for dozens of industry executives.
Before helping to establish Morrissey Goodale, Mark was the Corporate Strategic Marketing Manager at PBS&J where he was charged with improving and implementing progressive corporate initiatives geared to position the firm for successful, large-scale client pursuits. Prior to that, he worked at ZweigWhite for nearly 12 years, and headed the firm's strategic business planning and marketing business units.
Mark has authored more than a dozen articles for Civil Engineering Magazine and CE News, and has been quoted many times in various industry publications and newspapers. He was also a frequent contributor to ZweigWhite’s publications and events, and authored The Healthcare Market for AEP and Environmental Consulting Firms, the first of ZweigWhite’s market intelligence reports. Always a top-rated speaker, Mark has delivered presentations around the country on a wide variety of management topics at AIA, ACEC, and NSPE events.
Mark received his MBA from the Sawyer School of Business at Suffolk University in 1994 and earned a BA in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 1990. |

Lori Oakes-Coyne
Principal Consultant
Lori’s career as an advisor to the AEC industry has focused primarily on strategic human capital issues including hiring, retention, compensation, and best practices for AEC consulting firms. She has facilitated dozens of strategic hires and helped firm leaders to streamline and improve their hiring practices. An accomplished speaker, Lori has delivered popular presentations around the country for organizations such as ACEC, ASLA, NSPE, PEPP, and the BSA. Besides recruiting and retention-based topics, Lori loves to present on today’s multi- generational workplace and implications for improving efficiencies and ownership and leadership transition. She has written numerous articles, been quoted in trade magazines and newspapers, facilitated a number of online seminars, and was a regular contributing author to ZweigWhite’s ZweigLetter and editorial author of ZweigWhite’s HR Letter.
Before coming to Morrissey Goodale, Lori was a Principal and Managing Director of ZweigWhite’s Human Resources Advisory Services Division, where she led the firm’s efforts in strategic HR consulting and executive search. Prior to that, Lori worked for her own firm and for regional and national firms specializing in staffing services for the environmental and engineering consulting industries. Prior to her experience in staffing, Lori was employed as a geologist in the environmental consulting and geotechnical engineering industries.
Lori received her B.A. in Earth Science from Wesleyan University in 1992, and completed master’s degree coursework in geology and environmental science at Boston College in 1996. She is also a Master Gardener in the state of Massachusetts. |
